People often ask me what Cedric is made from… he is not fluffy like most bears. I wove Cedric using Tencel lyocell yarn which is man made from wood pulp using an environmentally friendly closed loop production process. It is super soft like silk but also strong. This makes it a lovely fibre to work with and means Cedric is a cuddly bear. It is also sustainably sourced and biodegradable which are also important reasons why I chose this particular yarn to work with.
And here’s our book! We have had some great reviews:
Really enjoying reading this book with my son! Three different tales following Cedric the bear, each with an engaging story and lovely illustrations. I like how it’s based on a real handmade teddy bear which really brings the story to life. Thoroughly recommend!
A charming book that quickly became a favourite with my child. The three stories are sweet and contain just enough drama to be exciting for children, without being too scary; the illustrations are delightful. It’s a book with real heart.
This is a lovely children’s book! Cedric the Bear has some brilliant adventures and it was an enjoyable read for the grown-ups as well as my little ones
The Adventures of Cedric the Bear was featured in the Basingstoke Gazette today. It’s been a long journey from when Cedric was first created in 2012 to now being able to say we have a book published.
